Blasting Hose (also known as abrasive blasting hose) are primarily used in abrasive-blasting applications to transport extreme abrasives such as Copper Slag, aluminum oxide, sand, and steel shots. Also, for sand blasting with an air compressed machine, the sand blasting hose serves as a suction and discharge hose. They have abrasion resistant thick inner tubes. 

Sand Blasting Machine would be incomplete without a blast hose. That is why, rather than choosing and insisting on poor-quality blast hoses and ducting, high-quality blast hoses and ducting should be chosen and insisted on. Sand Blast Hose has a thick rubber tube and a thick wall for transferring sand and other highly abrasive shots in temperatures up to 160°F and pressures up to 300 psi.

There are two types of sand blasting hose currently in use for industrial purpose, first is 2-PLY blasting hose, two liners are used in the construction of these two layers of abrasion-resistant natural rubber and a high-tensile, textile cord reinforced liner. Second is 4-PLY blasting hose, the 4-ply blast hose has two liners: four layers of abrasion-resistant natural rubber and a high-tensile, textile cord-reinforced liner.

The composition of a sand blasting hose is simple, natural rubber is used on the inside of the sand blasting hose, which has a high abrasion resistance. A polymeric substance makes up the outer layer. Reinforcement is provided in the form of a double textile braid. 

There are several connections which are known as couplings that need to be done to make sand blasting hose to work properly. Few of sandblasting couplings are listed below:

• Nozzle coupling: To provide a secure connection between the hose and the nozzle, nozzle couplings are fitted to the end of the blast hose. For a flawless fit, these couplings are female threaded to take the male threaded end of a sandblast nozzle. These couplings will be sized for each hose size and will be available in 1-1/4′′ or 3/4′′ in diameter, with a 1-1/4′′ standard thread.
• Hose coupling: A hose coupling connects one hose to another, such as a blast hose to a blast pot or a blast hose for a fast coupling to a threaded nozzle.
• Threaded tank couplings: These are only connected to the blast pot. Because it directs the initial exit of blasting media from the pot to the hose, this connection must be extremely strong.
• Threaded nozzle quick couplings: When different projects require different hose lengths or nozzle sizes, this is the tool to use. These connectors make it easier to add a length of hose or replace a nozzle.
